NDIS Positive Behaviour Support
Hope & Care Community Services provides person-centred Positive Behaviour Support for eligible NDIS participants. The service focuses on understanding behaviour, improving quality of life and developing practical strategies that support safety, independence and wellbeing.
Positive Behaviour Support We Provide
Depending on participant needs and service requirements, support may include:
- Behaviour assessments
- Individual behaviour support plans
- Positive and proactive support strategies
- Skill development and environmental recommendations
- Guidance for families, carers and support workers
- Behaviour support plan monitoring and reviews
- Strategies to reduce and eliminate restrictive practices
Who Can Access This Support?
Positive Behaviour Support may assist NDIS participants whose disability-related behaviours affect their safety, wellbeing, relationships or participation in daily life. Access depends on individual needs and the supports included in the participant’s NDIS plan.
Positive Behaviour Support is an evidence-, values- and rights-based approach that considers the reasons behind behaviour and the person’s individual needs.
Qualified Behaviour Support Practitioners
Behaviour assessments and behaviour support plans must be completed by an NDIS behaviour support practitioner considered suitable by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Specialist behaviour support providers must also hold the appropriate NDIS registration.
